What this page is and what it is not:

This page was originally designed as a resource guide for Howard Rosenbaum's L571 Information Networking class at Indiana University on the subject of writing fiction. As work on this project has proceeded, it has become increasingly clear to me that there are a vast number of resources for writers available on the Internet and that an attempt to capture and evaluate them all is beyond my powers.

With that in mind, it is my hope that this page will be able to capture some of the most valuable resources on the Internet for the professional and amateur writer alike. Some sites have been listed in more than one place, because they fall under more than one category.
