Illustrations Of Ozymandias

Finding myself digging through a site: Artificial Owl, which bills itself as a weblog of "the most fascinating abandoned man-made creations." It's an interesting collection of shipwrecks, ruins, unfinished buildings, old machinery, and ghost towns. Some of them are just gorgeous, like Bannerman's Castle, an abandoned military surplus warehouse on an island in the Hudson river. And some are just bizarre, like The Giant Hand of the Atacama Desert.

Site reminds me of the Iron Horse, a piece of art that was literally driven out to pasture when it proved to be an unpopular addition to a residence hall of UGA way back when. I used to see it sometimes, on summer trips to visit the grandparents, just poking out over the crops.

Go, look.

the horse is still there. the corn is not high, so he is visible.
