You Know The Song

Yes, today's the day. How old am I? Why, I'm as old as five seven-year-olds stacked atop each other. That's side to side, by the way. Head to toe would just be crazy. Plus, they'd be way too tall, collectively speaking.

As a librarian, I'd like to point out today's also the 153rd birthday of Melvil Dewey, inventor of the Dewey Decimal System, the first library classification system. It's an appropriate birthday for me to have, except that, as a university librarian, I'm strictly trained in Library of Congress and don't know a thing about the DDC. Ah well.

And as a writer, I also share my birthday with Emily Dickinson. It's her 118th. To quote Lisa Simpson, "she wrote some of the most beautiful poetry the world has ever known... then went crazy as a loon." Ah. True, true.

So, who wants cake?

Update: Ooh, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory trailer now online. That looks delicious.
