Space Coast

Back from a whirlwind trip to Melbourne, Florida (just south of Canaveral, part of the Space Coast!) for the wedding of Lisa's Aunt Sharon. Seemed like a lot happened, but aside from the wedding itself (which was lovely), most of it could be summed up as eating, taking pictures, and saying goodbye to various relatives. I said goodbye to Lisa's cousin Rachel three times. Not that it was unpleasant, but still. Long farewells at the reception, and then you see most of them the next morning at breakfast. Very odd.

Returned to find a couple of emails: one a 7 day rejection from Lenox Avenue, the other from Jason regarding minor edits for my Scattered story, all of which looked fine and/or reasonable to me.

Happily, my cold is gone. Unhappily, I need to start shopping for Christmas/Hannukah/Winter Solstice/Festivus.

Reading: On the trip I read Lewis Shiner's Deserted Cities of the Heart, and started on a YA book, Doctor Illuminatus: The Alchemist's Son, by Martin Booth.
