It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

With the holiday closing in at frightful speed, we're working hard to make certain when it goes off we'll be fully Kringled. For example, gift wrapping has finally been finished. Always a challenge, considering the difficulty in finding a box to fit in without giving what it is away. To the left you can see exhibit A, our gift to Lisa's sister Lisa J. Any guesses as to what it is?

That's right, it's a Tommy gun, complete with two extra ammo drums. Well done.

In other news, the missing gift is still unclaimed, and considering that last night's rain and wind made off with the signs, it seems unlikely anyone will call about it. I'll admit, I opened it up to see if I could figure out anything about the giver. It's a shirt & tie set, nice enough. But there's also a little box with a long, long, long handwritten note from a girl (the giver, I presume) to a boy (the givee). I didn't read it, but I caught enough of it to see that the relationship between the two is in trouble. There's also little tokens of affection (small paper hearts, etc.) mixed in. Just the sort of thing to make me feel guilty for opening it.

Of course, considering it was lying upside down in the middle of the street, there is the distinct possibility the receipient threw it out the window of his car (or school bus, I suppose) rather than open it. Guess I'll donate it to Goodwill, sans note. Ah, young love.
