Drying Out

...is a tedious business. Got around five inches of rain yesterday, and the local papers tell me that flooding might be an issue around here as the runoff water tries to find its lowest level. You know. Creeks, rivers, spots on the highway. Whee. And there's still Tropical Storm Jeanne lining up in the Atlantic, with Karl to possibly follow. If they make it to the "L"s this year (and why wouldn't they?), it'll be Hurricane Lisa. Hmm. No comment.

But as for us, we came through things fine. Campus closed up shop at 3:30 and we came home to watch the rain pound things. Power went out a couple times, once in the afternoon and once pretty briefly late in the evening. Which isn't bad timing: "So, time for bed?" Otherwise, no worries.
