Back From Vacation
I'm back. Did you miss me? Did you notice I was gone? Probably not, but that's ok. While others were in Los Angeles, watching the Nebula awards being handed out, I was in Melbourne, Florida (the Space Coast), watching my niece Kylee being christened. All right, not exactly then, but that's where I was this weekend (and a couple days before, and a day after). Also took a little vacation along the way - spent a day in Savannah, saw a few relatives in Brunswick, and collectively drove about 1200 miles. While I was gone, I got a polite say-nothing rejection from Analog, and the contracts for my poem "Lunchtime," which will appear in Speculon.
About the only other news I have is that I'll be starting a new day job soon. Come Monday, I'll be working at GrowingGrowing University in the library. I'm very pleased about this new job, as it has several things I'm happy about: more money, better benefits, more vacation time, an easier commute, and a return to an academic environment. Lovely.
